James Lee, an Realtor in Oregon, broke his neck Saturday June 21st, 2014 while diving into a pool.

James Lee, a real estate Broker in Oregon was in a serious accident on Saturday, June 21st, 2014. Many of you in our real estate community have been asking what happened, what his condition is, and what the prognosis is. In an effort to keep you all posted and have a community location where you can give, this GiveForward account was opened.

Here is what happend. (some facts may not be exact)
James and three of his best friends started out golfing and then over to a friend’s house for a BBQ. James dove into a swimming pool and tragically broke his neck. (no drinking was involved)

His friends CPR'd him and then James was life flight'd to Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Then James went through a 6 hour surgery on Sunday, June 22nd where they did surgery. The surgeons implanted a new vertebrae from the front of the neck, and vertebrae 3-7 were fused from the backside.

The doctors are pleased with the surgery results! His neck is stable and the head halo has been removed. He was in ICU at Emanuel Hospital until the last week of August 2014. While in ICU he could have family and visitors and other visitors outside his room. The biggest prayer was for his breathing. At first he could not yet breath on his own. He had some feeling in his collar area and bicep. Other body movement at this time is an unknown. He is "with it" and in great spirits. He is making the entire hospital staff laugh (to be expected from him!).

As you know…everyone LOVES James! The good news is that he has a personality that will be able to take on any challenge. James most likely will have a demanding recovery process ahead of him.

James Lee has mounting medical expenses and this has already been life changing. Any amount that you can give is going to add up to be HUGE in helping their "New Normal".

For all of you that have asked, "What can we do?"

The Lee Family thanks you for your love and support through this trying time.
