I am a college student entering my senior year at Washington and Jefferson College. With the economy a little tight, it is becoming harder and harder to keep up with tuition, room, board, and books.

In the past year or so it has become more difficult to keep up with the rising tuition/fees associated with college, especially since my parents are struggling to stay afloat in this economy. As I enter into my senior year, I am determined to finish out my time at school and graduate with my classmate/friends, many of whom I would consider family at this point.

Just to tell you a little about myself, I am a Dean's list student who is engaged with the community. I also work while I am at school and I work 40+ hour weeks at Kmart when I am home for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, and Summer. Unfortunately, in the past few weeks I fell ill and am experiencing complications from a spinal tap that I had done in the ER a short time ago. I must forgo a few week's worth of pay becauseof the complications, putting me even further behind.

Anything that you have to spare is appreciated, as I know that many other individuals are also having a difficult time in this economy. Thank you in advance for all that help me along the way!

The $1000 is to be used to pay down party of my bill for next semester. With tuition rising, the gap between my scholarship, government aide, and money from working is growing wider and wider.
