This is my son Connor. Connor was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at the tender age of 13. He is 21 now. His life's been in and out of hospitals, that's 8.5 years. He's been on a feeding tube, was diagnosed with Avascular necrosis of the hip, had a hip replacement on 2009, and he's been about 60 pounds for at least 3.5 years many medications later, and treatments. Connor is home, but suffers from anxiety. He loves to eat, but because of his Crohn's issue it is difficult to gain weight. He developed Avascular Necrosis of the hip after the GI put him on prednisone for to long. We were told that the side effects were blotting. Connor started having pain on his hip, and they sent him for pool physical therapy, that made it worse. Then we took him to this Doctor who said he will have to just fuse Connor's hip, and told Connor to suck it up. We told him that wasn't nice to tell him that, and he said "if you don't like me go somewhere else". We did thank God. We went to Dr. Frank Congiusta, and he was the nicest, and caring Dr. we've ever met. He took his time with Connor, and gave him a hip replacement. Connor's back it's been a big issue due to the scoliosis and Osteoporosis. I haven't met a Surgeon who wants to deal with Connor's back issues. We went to Vermont to see a back Surgeon, and he didn't want to perform surgery on Connor, he said he just needs to exercise. Three years later, my son's spine is worse. Connor is such an amazing young man, so giving, and full of life, I will not give up until we find the right Doctors to work with Connor. We need many prayers. Thank you. Where we are now: I need to take Connor to the Mayo Clinic in Florida. We are in need of funds to get there, and stay there for about one month, that way he can get tests done, and perhaps back surgery. I have to travel with him and my daughter due to the fact that my husband has to work, and we need to stay here: Inn at Mayo clinic. http://www.mayoclinic.org/ All I want to do is get Connor to a place where they care about their patients, and know how to listen. I started searching for best hospitals to treat Crohn's disease and Osteoporosis/Scoliosis, panic attacks, anxiety, and found The Mayo Clinic. We have tried so many Doctors, and not one is really concern about my son's condition. My husband works full time and is in the Air Force National Guard still trying to catch up with bills, I am a stay home mother home educating my children. Connor is a very intelligent young man, and he is very gifted. He loves to draw, he loves to make videos on youtube, and he loves God with all his heart. In this moment I am asking for anything you can contribute as a good samaritan. I do appreciate your time reading this, and if you have any questions feel free to email me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. May God triple your blessing for helping others. Sincerely, Laura S.
