Helping Jennifer Drew-Young continue the fight for her life.

Jennifer Drew-Young is a medical mystery, and she's continuing an 18-year battle for her life.  If you're on this page, odds are that you or someone you love has been lucky enough to know Jen. She's made you laugh, she's hugged you silly, she's prayed with you, she's cheered for you. This incredible spirit, incredible athlete, and all-around amazing person needs our help.  (Scroll through the potos at the top of this page to see all of her video updates.)

You see, for 18 years, Jen has been fighting multiple diseases, all of which complicate one another: Interstitial Lung Disease, Raynauds, Lupus, Scleroderma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Dermatomyositis, Anemia, Sjogrens, Erythema Nodosum, Lung Inflamation, and Aspiration Pneumonitis. And those are just the biggies.  She's fighting for her life.  In addition to the medicines for these many conditions, she is now going through chemotherapy to fight lung damage from her diseases.  Although her body is battered, Jen doesn't feel sorry for herself.  Instead, even though she is exhausted and feeling run-down, she has decided to bring smiles to others--she dresses as a different superhero for every chemo appointment to cheer up the other chemo patients.  You'll see her costumes in the photos and videos above.

The practical truth is that it costs a LOT of money to fight for your life.  Jen and her husband, Rick, are paying for chemotherapy and a mountain of drugs. Each disease requires prescriptions--and each prescription requires more drugs to fight the side effects.  Worst of all, their medical coverage drops every summer, so that what used to cost $40 now costs $300.  Over and over and over again.   To face this for 18 years with no break costs more than you can imagine. Please consider helping Jen. No amount is too small--together, we can make a huge difference.
