In January, 2013 our community was hit with devastating news. Brian Michonski was diagnosed with stage 3 Pancreatic cancer at the age of 49. He and his family and friends were shocked by this devastating news. Rather than complain and ask for pity, Brian, with his family and friends by his side, are looking for prayers and a cure. We would like help in raising awareness and much needed money to fund research so early detection becomes a reality and treatment more mainstream. Pancreatic Cancer is the least understood cancer and receives the least amount of funds for research. Brian has received impeccable care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston under the care of several Pancreatic Cancer Specialists. Now his battle continues. We are asking our community to help us reach our goal of $5,000. The Lustgarten Foundation is a nonprofit Organization and all the money raised goes directly to research towards a cure and to Brian and Melissa to help with medical expenses... To reach our goal we are organizing a 5K walk/run in Skowhegan, Maine on September 28th. If you are interested in the 5K Walk/Run- "No One Fights Alone!" , We are Michonski Strong!
