This is for our loving Mother Carmen. Shes given us the world. We just want to give her what she DESERVES.

When we were kids we lost our father at 36 years of age to a sudden massive heart attack. I was 14 and my sister was only 1 year old. Our Mother had to be both Mom and Dad while surviving on government assistance.
Our Mother Carmen gave up working to be a widowed mother of 2 children. My sister Jacqueline is now a medical assistant looking to continue her education and achieve in her field. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army having served 8 years. Our Mother, while struggling to make ends meat still made time to nourish and love us unconditionally, shaping us to be decent human beings.
In the summer of '06 Our Mother Carmen was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Unfortunately, after enduring 2 grueling rounds of radiation therapy over the course of 2 years the tumor continued to grow. Chemotherapy and surgery were not considered an option since the oncology team at Stonybrook University Hospital believed she would not survive these methods methods of treatments. 6 months ago, her condition was deemed palliative (meaning there was no chance of recovery) Our Mom has continued in the face of adversity to struggle financially and worked INCREDIBLY HARD to keep our family unit together and taken care of.
Unexpectedly on July 29, 2012 her health took a turn for the worst. She rushed and admitted to Stonybrook Hospital where we were told by Doctors that any and all efforts would be unsuccessful. She was then placed in comfort care and admitted into Hospice where she now remains.
She is terminal and could only have hours left. Mom had no life insurance to cover the cost of the funeral. We are in desperate need of assistance and reaching out to ANYBODY who is willing to help. PLEASE help us. Any and all donations will go directly to the cost of Moms funeral. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for taking the time to read our story and getting to know our wonderful Mom.
