Help us to do something special for the family of Mark Neuenschwander, who is battling brain cancer, and his family.

Those who know the Neuenschwanders know that the family has had a trying few years. Mark was diagnosed with a Grade 2 brain tumor in August 2009. He was treated with surgery and radiation at that time. The following year, Mark's wife Jenny was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was treated and is now in remission.

This August, a recurrence of Mark's brain tumor was discovered and it has progressed to a Grade 3 anaplastic astrocytoma, which means this time the tumor is considered to be malignant. Mark and his family have a tough fight ahead of them and I would like to do something to allow the family to truly enjoy themselves while Mark's overall health is good. With this in mind, I present this request for donations to you.

Here is my plan: Part of the money collected will go towards sending the family on a weeklong (or so) vacation with expenses paid. The remaining money can be put towards travel expenses related to Mark's treatment and a college fund for his two boys. His treatment is being managed at The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center and will require several trips over the coming months to that facility.

Mark and Jenny (along with their two boys, Will and Charlie) are incredibly special people. If you are reading this, you probably already know that. Please consider giving to help us do something special for them.

------------------- One final note: -------------------

This is going to be a surprise for Mark and his family around the holidays; please do not post this on Facebook,LinkedIn, Twitter or any other social media platforms where Mark and/or Jenny could stumble upon this! Help to keep this a secret prior to our gift to the family. As we approach the goal, I will let everyone know how and when we will present this to the Neuenschwanders. thanks for your help -scott smith
