This is Deuce's walk again fund. The funds will be used to provide the surgeries and rehabilitation he needs to get walking again.

We rescued our dog Deuce from euthanasia at our local humane society, he was one of the most unlikely candidates for adoption and we were lucky enough to stumble across him. He was curled up in a ball in the corner of his enclosure and just didn't want to be bothered by anyone. He gave no reaction to us as we tried to talk to him, the volunteer helping us said he was scheduled to be euthanized in a few days. After spending some time with him at the shelter his true personality began to shine through and we adopted him. He has turned out to be the most wonderful addition to our family and our lives, he is very loving and obedient, he was very easy to train and behaves like a true gentleman, I can't imagine ever having a better dog or companion. We worked through many health and personality issues with him due to the fact that his previous owners abused him severely, it took about six months to be able to pet him without him flinching like he was going to be hit. He never did like to walk on slippery floor surfaces since we adopted him and recently has been unable to get around without assistance from someone, he cant get up on his own and has a lot of trouble walking, I help him by putting a towel under him and taking his weight off of his hind legs, (he is about 120 pounds so this isn't exactly easy to do). He has recently been seen by Dr. Jon Anderson of Pittsburgh Vetrinary Specialists and diagnosed with two torn ACL's and fluid on both knees, Dr. Anderson believes one of the tears was definitely there since adoption and the other has developed from the extra stress of overcompensating with the other leg, he will need surgery on both legs (tplo), and his rehabilitation will be quite extensive (water therapy to build the muscle in his rear legs), We were given a conservative estimate of 8-10 thousand dollars for his surgeries and rehab, we are looking to raise as much money as we can for our little boy because we just can't afford it all, we have some money available but we are desperately trying to make up the difference any way possible so we can get him back on his feet, any donation would be greatly appreciated, it means the world to us because it helps us help him, I can't imagine our lives without him, god bless you and thank you for your help.
