This is Meg Hannigan's fundraising page to participate in a program working alongside migrant workers in Florida. Thanks for the support!

Hello friends!

In January, I will be participating in a service trip to Immokalee, Florida, to work around issues surrounding food justice and fair wages with migrant workers. I am very excited, but need your help to make this happen.

I want to thank you for your generosity the best way that I can! So as a big THANK YOU, donations for the following amounts will be eligible to receive these following FABULOUS prizes:

-$5 Meg gives you 5 compliments
-$10 Meg performs a karaoke song of your choice in your honor
-$15 Meg will write a haiku for you
-$20 Meg writes a limerick about you
-$25 Meg creates an origami gift for you
-$30 Meg will take a photo in front of an NYC landmark in your honor with a mystery message
-$50 Meg knits a mystery gift for you for you
-$75 Meg will write a song on guitar for you and either give a live performance or send it to you via You Tube
-$100 Meg will cook you dinner (or if you live somewhere else, donate ingredients to Miriam's Kitchen's dinner program)
$150+ Any combination of the above!

And here is a summary of what my team and I will be doing in Florida:

The team partners with community and grass roots organizations in Immokalee, Florida around issues of farm workers' rights, fair wages and food justice. Students live and work with our partnering organizations and meet representatives from the farm worker community to gain a deeper understanding of the movement just wages and human work conditions. The group works with Immokalee Housing and Family Services, Guadalupe House, and Friendship House in various programs -- an after school program, a computer training course, a shelter, a soup kitchen and an early beginnings program. The team also visits the Coalition of Immokalee Workers to learn about advocacy and organizing efforts for the rights of the people who harvest our food. The team also has the opportunity to experience some of the natural beauty in the surrounding areas and in the Everglades National Park.
