The family and friends of Dan Golden are uniting to raise money to help with his battle following a double lung transplant!

Dan Golden was diagnosed in 1995 with an autoimmune disease, Wegener's Granulomatosis. Dan has a wife Dana and a young son Casey.
Thursday October 4, 2012 they were notified Dan was ready for a double lung transplant. On October 5, 2012 Dan underwent a double lung transplant in St. Louis.
Dan is not doing well right now. He has been paralyzed so that he is not fighting the vent. He is requiring a lot more oxygen than he should be. They call this primary graft dysfunction. The lungs were damaged from the donor and into him. Basically they were without blood and then when they filled them up they were damaged in that process. The goal is that when they paralyze him he will only breathe on the vent. His body won't fight it and it will allow his lungs to heal and then allow him to come off the vent. His stats drop very quickly whenever they move him and causes some concern. Right now we are in a trial and error process. They try one thing to see if it works, then try another. Dana and Casey are staying in St. Louis right now. They are currently in the process of finding a place that they can stay as well as Dan can stay once released as this will be a long journey.
