Family seeking donations to help purchase special needs programs and tracking device for son.

Isaiah, a beautiful 9 year old boy with Down Syndrome.

Due to the inability to finance his needs, through State funding or through our own personal income, his family has created this Fundraiser for his benefit.

Since the age of 4, Isaiah has been a "Runner". Keen at finding ways to elope quietly while under the watch of caregivers and family members.

Wandering… The constant fear parents with a special needs child will always have. Every week there is another news story of a child gone missing and sometimes the results are tragic. It is becoming more apparent that wandering and drowning are leading causes of death for children with special needs, who often have limited communication abilities, impulsive behaviors, and a lack of a sense of danger.

Just last week, Isaiah escaped quietly out the rear door of an ice skating rink, while on a field trip with daycare. He was found 30 minutes later, 1/2 mile away by a woman driving by, who notice him walking along Oxnard Blvd, where the average speed of cars is 50 miles per hour. She immediately flagged down a Police officer. After writing up a "Child Abuse Report", Isaiah was returned safely to his caregivers.

Scary? Yes, very! This is just one of MANY similar stories where Isaiah has wandered away undetected.

This fundraiser will help us purchase and maintain a Tracking Device which will enable us to locate Isaiah within minutes of wandering off. The two we are considering are, and

Isaiah was born hearing impaired and currently has only 20 words to his vocabulary, therefore the remaining funds will provide for an iPad and communication software. Products such as:, First Then Visual Schedule, Off We Go and Living Safely and others.

Once the Fundraiser reaches it's goal, these products will be purchase directly from Isaiah's account and Behavioral Specialists will immediately be able to teach him visual and communication safety skills to help him maneuver through his day safely.

We understand these are tough times for all... Any amount will be much appreciated.

With Gratitude and Love... Isaiah's Family
