We are not sure we can raise enough for an iPad to combat autism, so we will try for an iPod Touch if we don't raise enough!

Jake is 9 years old and very smart. He was diagnosed at age 2 1/2 with classic autism, but then the doctors changed their minds and called it autism spectrum disorder. Either way, Jake's behaviors were not normal.

Jake was very fortunate to get treatment homeopathically. It has made a difference, but I am always searching for non-drug ways to help him become a better Jake. ;)

Early this year, a friend of our's raised money for an iPad for her daughter. It made such a difference in her life! I began to wonder if this kind of device would help Jake?

Recently a non-profit gave away 50 iPads. I signed Jake up for the drawing. He was so excited to get an iPad and begin using it and the apps I had shown him. We were not chosen to receive one. Jake was devastated. I continued to encourage him not to lose hope and that God would provide something.

I have already acquired more than 110 apps for special needs children, but we have no device to use them on. I figured if I could not afford or raise money for an iPad, then why not an iPod touch so he could use at least SOME of the apps I have won and purchased for him? We are going for the iPad, but will be happy with the iPod Touch if that is what we raise enough to buy.

I am a single mother with a couple of disabilities of my own. I have been unable to work or find a job that will keep me on even with my issues. Jake's (and his twin brother) father pays very little child support (courts did not order much), so I just cannot swing the extra expense and keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. But, if I can raise part of it, then I might be able to figure the rest out.

So, please, even little bit helps! I appreciate your help! If you want updates after the fund raiser, feel free to e-mail me @ johnsontonyaj@gmail.com Thank you!
