Téa has spent over 2 1/2 years battling Thoracic Endometriosis, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome & Hemiplegic Migraines.

These diseases are life long illness causing debilitating pain & requiring hospitalization. Her stays vary between 5-13 days. Her pain is located on the left side of her chest and at times, left shoulder blade. The use of heavy narcotics administered IV every 2 hours renders her incapacitated for days. Seizures begin, which Dr. Abdallah (pediatric cardiologist) believes to be a rare form of Hemiplegic Migraines causing the seizures, paralysis and stroke like symptoms.

Téa is now a 12th grade student with straight A's and 4.0 GPA. She is taking Honors courses, involved in the Diversity Club & Rotary Club. Her sophomore year, she was home bound due to her illness. After a 3 month remission, she has relapsed thus requiring a more aggressive approach medically and surgically. Her treatment is currently on a trial basis to see what works and what does not. Trips to John Hopkins are in place to research the vascular function within her brain and its cascading effect on the inflammatory process which sets her episodes in motion, aggressively heightens the severity of her pain and seizures and results in full body paralysis. After so many years of being misdiagnosed, operated on when it was not necessary to do so, given 2 chemotherapeutic drugs--when it was not needed (and losing all her hair),  we are respectfully asking for any amount of support to aid with her medical expenses including travel and treatment.
Téa's life has been forever changed yet she continues to keep a positive attitude & we as a family have faith that she will endure & weather this terrible storm & emerge all the better
