Family & friends of David & Keri Baskin join forces to raise money to help remodel their bathroom to meet David's needs while battling ALS.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with David’s battle, he was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's disease on May 4, 2010. The disease attacks all the muscles of his body and has made his breathing more difficult. Once an extremely athletic and active family man, this unrelenting disease continues to make daily living a constant challenge. In just 15 short months, David has gone from being a husband and father that enjoyed golfing, hunting, mountain biking and working with his hands to using a walker to help him get around the house. When a more strenuous pace is required, in order for David to keep up with his family and friends, a wheelchair is essential. David is still able to work from home by staying in touch with his employees and clients via phone and email. All the while their faith in God and His will for their lives remains firm. Due to his loss of muscle control, David struggles to achieve the smallest daily activities most people take for granted. The effort it takes to lift his leg over the shower ledge is becoming increasingly more difficult with each passing day. You can all imagine how hard you would fight to hold on to your dignity and independence as you attempted to perform such a small task. David will require additional assistance from his caregivers as this disease continues to take its toll. Besides mounting health care costs, the Baskins expenses to this point have also included the purchase of a specially made wheelchair that will accommodate David’s ever changing physical needs and a van with a lift. At this time the immediate priority is to remodel their bathroom so David can easily maneuver his wheelchair. Please join us as we raise funds to make this a reality. Thank you for taking the time to share with David and Keri. Your gift will be greatly appreciated. May God bless you!
