The generosity of this fundraiser will be used to allow Collyn Richards to attend the National Young Leaders State Conference in July 2013.

Based on Collyn Richards scholastic merit, maturity and responsibility, he has been nominated to attend the National Young Leaders State Conference. Enrollment in this conference requires recognition and nomination by an educator and/or mentor, not just personal election--Collyn was personally nominated by his school principal and one of his teachers for this exciting privilege. "The National Young Leaders State Conference (NYLSC) challenges each scholar to step forward with conviction and confidence, to grasp the concepts of leadership and to act upon his/her dreams of making a difference in their community. With the insight and guidance of highly trained facilitators and the assistance of their peers, scholars work within each activity to hone their plan of personal leadership. The core leadership power tools are communication, conflict resolution, decision making, goal setting, group dynamics, leadership techniques, project management, self awareness and appreciating diversity. NYLSC scholars strengthen the skills they need to succeed in school and gain new perspective on how they view their role as leaders in their communities, leaving the conference well-equipped to begin their journey."--taken from the NYLSC web page. Those of you who know Collyn are aware that the sky is the limit in Collyn's eyes and mind. Our community should be proud to have such a bright prospect for a future leader in our midst. Collyn does so much to mentor other students and is exemplary, both in conduct, and in academics. He volunteers his time to assist younger children in the Maroa/Forsyth Youth League sports program. Collyn provides a positive presence in the lives of all he encounters. His support for his peers is always sincere and encouragement never passed on begrudgingly. We are so proud of Collyn and would like to thank you right now for your support and for visiting this page. Please know that all of your support to help Collyn raise the money to allow him to attend this once in a lifetime event is humbling, and he is so grateful for your donation. Donations and encouragement of any amount will be accepted and appreciated. Thank you!!
