The family and friends of Roxie are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against cancer. Please show your support!

Roxie (formerly known as Snowflake) has lived a tough life and was brought as a stray to the SD Humane Society, and lived there for over a year. In that time, so many volunteers got to work and interact with her and learned how sweet she was. We adopted her last November, and we felt so lucky to have found such a sweet and gentle dog. As many of you know, Roxie has recently been diagnosed with cancer. She had surgery to remove two tumors, but we found another growth that was revealed to be more cancer. We discussed treatment options with the vet oncologist, and the decision was to give chemotherapy orally for 4 cycles every 3 weeks. After 2 cycles and little shrinking of the tumor, they decided to go with a more aggressive treatment of weekly IV chemo then biweekly for a total of 3 months.

To date we have spent over $2750.00 on surgeries, chemotherapy, antibiotics, anti-nausea medications and blood work. Unfortunately this new IV chemotherapy regimen will cost significantly more. We will continue our treatment for Roxie to give her the best shot for recovery because we want to keep such a sweet and loving part of our family with us for a long time. With that, we are starting this fundraiser page to help defray the mounting costs. This is an opportunity to give those who she has touched a chance to give toward her treatments. We go into this with an understanding that the support and love she gets from our friends and family is a wonderful gift and all that we expect. However several of our friends and family have asked if we would set up a donation page to allow them to participate in Roxie’s battle. If you have the means to make a donation toward her care and are so inclined to do so, we thank you and most gratefully accept your kind gift. If you do not have the means at this time, we completely understand, and the gift of your care, concern, and friendship is as valuable to us. Feel free to share this link with others that might want to participate in raising funds, or to offer their best wishes.
