The family and friends of Scott and Brandolyn Henderson are uniting to raise money to support them in their path to healing and recovery

It has been a scary, exhausting, and stressful couple months for Scott and Brandolyn. On September 14, 2012, Scott took B to the ER in Las Vegas. For the past few weeks, she had been feeling fatigued, suffering from nausea, and losing her appetite. She was admitted with very low white cell counts. The doctors initially thought she had lymphoma, leukemia, or a combination of both.

Due to her condition, her liver function began to decrease. After being transferred to UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center and receiving a second biopsy, she received the terrifying diagnosis of HLH, or Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a blood disorder that is very rare and typically results in low blood counts, fever, jaundice, enlarged spleen and enlarged lymph nodes. The disorder can be fatal. B is currently back in Las Vegas and receiving chemotherapy for 8 weeks. If the chemotherapy regimen is not successful, she will have to have a stem cell transplant. This will be at one of three hospitals: USC Keck, Scripps Green in La Jolla, or UMC in Tucson, AZ. And will entail a hospital stay of around 2 months. Throughout this time, B nor Scott have been able to be with their son, Austin, as B's immune system is too fragile.

On top of this, Scott's employer laid him off because of the extended time he had to take off to care for B, leaving them in a precarious financial situation at a time when they can least afford it. They need our support to help them focus on doing what's needed to get B the best care possible so that she can heal and recover.

This fundraiser ends on January 6th so if you can give, please give before this date. Thank you for whatever help you can provide and know that your financial and emotional support is incredibly powerful for Scott and B as they face this enormous challenge in front of them.
