Conrad was recently diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Please support him and make his dreams come true.
Conrad is like any other 7 year old boy. He loves riding his bike, "popping wheelies", playing with cars, legos, wrestling, etc. Although shy at first, once he gets to know someone, he is quite the character! He instantly touches the hearts of everyone he meets. After experiencing impaired movement of his left eye, his mother booked an appointment with his pediatrician to have an MRI. Little did anyone expect what was to come. On February 12, 2014, Conrad's doctor diagnosed him with Diffuse Intinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). A Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) is a tumor located in the pons (middle) of the brain stem and is diffusely infiltrating (grows amidst the nerves). Therefore, it is not able to be surgically removed. DIPG has a 0% survival rate. The median overall survival of children diagnosed with DIPG is approximately 9 months. The 1 and 2 year survival rates are approximately 30% and less than 10%, respectively. These statistics make it one of the most devastating pediatric malignancies. However, we still have hope and will continue to pray for a miracle. The funding we receive will go towards medical costs and hopes of sending Conrad and his immediate family to Disneyworld. Thank you so much for the support and keeping Conrad in your heart and prayers. God bless.
For any confusion, we had to change the beneficiary name to Benjamin Torres (Conrad's uncle) as the monetary account is in his name and names must match in order for donations to be received. I'm sorry for any confusion. For any questions, feel free to email us at TeamConrad2014@yahoo.com
