This proud family needs your help until such time as Frank has recovered from heart surgery. Please show your support!

Frank Hogan is a good man and a good carpenter who works hard every day. But like many in his profession lives week to week on his income and cannot afford medical insurance. Last year’s mild winter was good to him because it allowed more work days and he did not fall behind on paying living expenses for his family.

Unfortunately, in early April, his family received a phone call that Frank had been taken to the local hospital with chest pains. Tests proved that Frank needed heart surgery. He was transported to a larger hospital and open heart surgery was performed. After long hours of waiting the doctors said Frank had come through the surgery okay. He was sent home in three days and we assumed that everything was going well.

Six days later Frank returned to his local hospital with chest pains and drainage from the surgery incision. He was transported back to the hospital that had performed the surgery. The incision was opened to drain and Frank was treated for an infection. Three days later he was taken back to surgery and the incision was closed and three drainage tubes were put in. Six days later he was released. Frank’s son was trained at home to administer an IV antibiotic twice a day and to care for the tubes daily. The medication was provided by the hospital for this part of the care. Frank’s care required three trips a week (86 miles round trip and the cost of gas) to the hospital and additional prescriptions. His tubes have been removed and he is now receiving his care at a clinic which is closer to his home.

Rehab is starting soon and Frank is looking to hopefully return to work by the end of August. The expenses of the past few months have put him under water. He sold an old car to try to make ends meet and now his truck, necessary for transportation to rehab, is in need of repair. We have contacted Social Security but there is no help available unless he is off of work for one year. The only assistance they are receiving in USDA Food Stamps and they are very appreciative. Our biggest concern is past due rent, current utilities and medical prescriptions.

We are hopeful that this endeavor will raise enough money to help Frank and his family with their current needs and that some of the stress will be taken off of him. Any contributions and prayers would be greatly appreciated. Also, you can help by passing along this information to your social network. Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help my brother.
