The friends and family of Jackie Kelley are uniting to raise money to help her with her out of pocket medical expenses from her surgery.

During a routine doctors visit, Jackie's Doctor discovered what she realized could be an ovarian cyst. Due to the implications, she ordered a CT scan for the next day. The results of the scan showed Jackie had a football sized cyst on her right ovary and she was referred to a gynecological oncologist right away.

After many different tests, the oncologist felt that due to the size and the severity of the cyst that the surgery should be done as soon as possible. Not knowing the extent of the growth there was a possibility of taking both ovaries and uterus.

A few short weeks later, Jackie underwent surgery on June 20, 2012. The growth, now the size of a soccer ball, and the right ovary and tube were safely removed. Luckily the surgery was such a success, she was able to keep her left ovary and uterus. As is true with borderline ovarian tumors they are considered semi-malignant but due to the slow growing cells, there was no need for chemotherapy. With regular visits to the specialist for the next 6 years, Jackie's prognosis is good.

Though she has insurance, she hasn't been able to work while through her recovery and insurance doesn't cover all the costs of such an expensive surgery. Any donation of any size at all would help Jackie as she gets back on her feet. Jackie and her friends and family appreciate everyone's continued support.
