Valerie's knockout cancer
The family and friends of Valerie Tucker are uniting to raise money to help with her battle against breast cancer. Please show your support!
We want Valerie to focus on fighting the fight of her life! My friend Valerie, age 45, felt a lump in her breast so she scheduled a doctor’s appointment to have it checked out. When Val went in for her follow up appointment, nobody thought she would hear the words “It is cancer.” All I could think after hearing the news was, “I can’t believe it. She is way too young, she has no family history of breast cancer, she has more energy than anyone I know, she is healthy, and she is my best friend.
It was an especially hard blow for Valerie because she tragically lost her husband four years ago to a heart attack. Valerie's best supporter is gone and she is relying on us for help. On January 9, 2013, Valerie has undergone a mastectomy which will now be followed by chemotherapy and radiation. Valerie is a strong woman.
If you know her, you know she is a ball of fire! She is independent, smart, funny, and tough as nails. She has the spirit to fight her cancer. We are raising money to offset/assist with expenses. Our hope is that we alleviate the financial burden so Valerie can concentrate on getting better. The costs to maintain daily living expenses while she fights this cancer are continually mounting. It is important that Valerie focus all of her energy and strength on winning this battle. She will not be able to work the two jobs she has during her fight against breast cancer. Both businesses where Valerie is employed are helping in her fundraising efforts.
