The goal of this fundraiser is to ease the financial burden for The Ratel Family, resulting from Cameron's major surgery.

Cameron is a wonderful 19 year old, young man who was born with a heart condition, for which he has endured multiple surgeries.

He recently had major medical surgery at Boston Children's Hospital, within two weeks of graduating with his Associate's degree. The surgery is called the Fontan procedure. Part of one of his lungs was removed and his blood liver flow had to be rerouted.

Besides medical expenses, his mother, Trish, is unable to work while she is in the hospital with him for an estimated two weeks. She is self-employed, so while she is there, she doesn't make any money, although the bills continue to come in. When they were ready to make the trip to the hospital, they discovered they had car problems, and had the expense of renting a car. Of course, when they return home, there will be the expense of having the car repaired as well and there is the uncertainty of how much she can work when they return home since Cam will still need care.

Cameron is a courageous young man, and his family members are strong and exhibit tremendous strength and faith. As they focus all their energy on Cameron's health and healing, let's help them ease their financial stresses, so that it's one less thing for them to think about.

Galatians 6:2: Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (NIV)
