Friends and family are uniting to raise money for the tools to help give little Cameron his voice. Please show your support!

On November 21, 2008 the world was blessed with a little ray of sunshine named Cameron Earley. Unbeknownst at the time, the smiley first born child of Meagan and Will would be faced with all the challenges that would follow his diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that can involve brain and nervous system functions such as movement, learning, hearing, seeing, and thinking. This disorder is life long, and can cause significant problems with the person’s ability to communicate effectively, as they often have trouble with the speech and gesturing that are actively used in communication. Speech and Language therapy along with electronic aids are now allowing people with CP to maximize their communication skills. Cameron is currently unable to sit or walk on his own. He receives physical, occupational and speech therapy, but is still non-verbal and can hardly sign as he has limited to no use of his left hand, as well as restricted use of his right. Right now, his only main means of communication is pointing and making some sounds. The Apple iPad currently offers apps that can be the key to allowing the children and people who are dealing with these types of communication challenges to finally let their thoughts and feelings be heard. As recently as last week, Fox News has reported on the iPad’s effective help with people who are dealing with Autism; the benefits of these apps are very similar for those who are living with Cerebral Palsy. "iPad, apps key to unlocking communication barrier with autistic students" Read Article Here Unfortunately, with great innovation comes great cost. The cost of living and medical expenses that the family faces don’t currently allow them to afford this type of aid. Aside from the cost of the physical iPad, one of these apps alone costs $180! But with your help, we would be able to fund the purchasing of this imperative communication tool. He is the utmost of determined little boys! He tries his absolute hardest to do some of those simple things that we, who have never had such challenges, may take for granted. He imitates others and tries SO hard to keep up with his peers, he is one social little boy! He loves being around his friends and with an easy smile like that, you can’t help but see why they love being around him! We know that he is able to understand others; his big challenge comes with his inability to communicate back to them. He has a LOT of information, thoughts and feelings in his head- He just needs the right tools to help him get them out! One of the greatest human experiences that we have is the ability to communicate with others; and with your help we will finally be able to give Cameron the voice that he needs!
