This is the Tony Arce Cancer Treatment Fund. The funds will be used for Tony's medical costs and related expenses not covered by insurance.

Here is the story about my dad Tony. He had been feeling sick so he went to the doctor and after various tests they found some nodules in his lungs. The doctors decided to do a biopsy and what they found was not good. My dad has stage 4 cancer in his lungs that is not actually lung cancer but kidney cancer that has metastized in his lungs. You see my dad had kidney cancer about 9 years ago and had his kidney removed. A few years later it was discovered that he had prostate cancer, but luckily it was detected early on and so he underwent radiation treatment and that took care of it. This time it is much more serious. The doctors have said that there are so many nodules on his lungs that there are too many to count and at this point surgery is definitely out of the question.

The only option is for him to undergo oral chemotherapy. The medication is called Sutent and it costs a whopping $17,000 a month! My parents have medicare and a supplemental insurance, but that does not cover all of it so they will have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket. We do not know exactly how much it will be because we do not know how long he will have to be on the treatment.

A NEW DEVELOPMENT: My father's oncologist has indicated that he will also need to have this thyroid removed as it appears that the cancer has spread to his thyroid as well. We are working on getting the surgery scheduled as soon as possible. His thyroid is so inflammed at the moment that the doctor says it posses an immediate risk and must be removed ASAP. It is obstructing his trachea and could eventually stop him from breathing.

We, his kids, his grandkids, wife and everyone else love him very much just as I'm sure everyone loves their dad, grandfather, and husband. We want him around for as long as possible. My son Max is 3 years old and he said he wants to see him graduate from high school and so I need to do whatever I can to try and make that happen.
This is a very difficult time for our family and we are doing all we can to rally together to fight this thing as a family.

No amount is too small and any donation is truly appreciated. Please join me to help save my dad's life because he means so much to so many and has always been there for all of us. It is our turn to show him how much he means to us.

If you would rather mail a check or deal directly, not through this site message me on FB, Martha Arce Hoffmann. Thank you so much.
