Grayson Paul Earl Jett entered this life at 3:18 p.m., on January 9, 2009, in Fridley, Minnesota weighing 8 pounds and measuring 19 ¾ inches long. Grayson left us at 1:48 p.m., on March 18, 2010. Grayson was the precocious son of Paul Brian and Jennifer Wynthier Jett and the adoring brother to Jackson James Ford Jett.

Grayson is survived by his grandparents, Paul and Darleen Jett and James and Clara Lee Smith; great-grandmother, Teabitha Jett; uncle and aunt, Adam and Shannon Fischer; first cousins, Margot and Sam Fischer. Grayson is also survived by 26 remarkable great-aunts and uncles: Lynne Bauby, Gerald Bauby, Jim Sandlin, Charlie Sandlin, Mary Jane Abner, Louise and ID Campbell, Tootsie Bowling, Earl and Rose Sandlin, Bill and Vicki Sandlin, Sophie and Ed Spicer, Pierce and Vesta Jett, Nancy and G.B. Deaton, Wanda and Roger Martin, Marie Maggard, Sim Jett, Virgie and Hank Baker, Janet Jett, and Sarah Faye Jett.

KSTP.com (June 3, 2010). Charges: Driver Was Looking For Cell Phone Before Crash, Killing Baby. Criminal charges have been filed against a Minneapolis woman accused of looking for her cell phone instead of watching the road, causing a crash that killed a baby. According to the criminal complaint, 29-year-old Jessica Howe of Minneapolis bent down to grab her cell phone when she rear-ended a vehicle at the intersection of Central Avenue NE and 50th Avenue NE in Columbia Heights in March. 14-month-old Grayson Jett, a passenger in the vehicle Howe rear-ended, died at the hospital two hours after the crash from head injuries. Accident reconstruction reports indicate Howe was going 55 mph in a 40 mph zone at the time of the crash. Howe is charged with Criminal Vehicular Homicide and Failure to Provide Vehicle Insurance. If convicted, Howe faces a maximum sentence of 11 years in prison and a $23,000 fine.

Minneapolis StarTribune (March 21, 2010). Authorities said they're considering serious charges against a Minneapolis woman who was reaching for a cell phone when her car rear-ended another, killing a 14-month-old boy in the car ahead. The toddler, Grayson Paul Earl Jett of Golden Valley, died Thursday afternoon of head injuries. ... The boy, strapped in a car seat, and his father, Paul Jett, 38, were in the second car, which was stopped, as was the third car. ...

FOX 9 News. Woman on Phone in Columbia Heights Crash Killing Baby. (March 18, 2010). A one-year-old boy was killed and a man and woman were injured in a crash in Columbia Heights on Thursday. When officers arrived to the scene of the crash at the intersection of 50th Avenue and Central Avenue, they found a three-car rear-end accident. Police said the boy was in a car with his father and the woman, who was in another car, was reaching for her cell phone. Police cited her for inattentive driving and said more serious charges could be filed.
