Please show your support for Kellie Thompson Shiley’s three children.

On July 16th The University of North Carolina Women’s Lacrosse Alumni lost a dear friend and remarkable teammate, Kellie Thompson Shiley. Kellie passed away from complications following the delivery of her twin baby girls, Blake and Paige. Kellie was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, friend, and mother. Kellie also left behind her loving husband, Ryan, and their young son, Landon (2 yrs).

As a student athlete at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Kellie excelled at everything she did and we are all better people for having the honor of knowing her and having played with her. There are countless athletic and academic achievements that are a part of what made Kellie so special, but what we will all miss most is Kellie’s remarkable dedication to her family and friends.

Kellie's passing is a heartbreaking and inexplicable loss for her family, our lacrosse family, and for all who knew and loved her. Many of our friends, family, and colleagues have asked how they can help. One way we can all help is by making sure that the Shiley children get the opportunities and education that were so important to her. Kellie strived to help everyone she touched in life reach their full potential and we want to be able to provide the same for her family.

The Kellie Thompson Shiley Family Trust has been established in response to the outpouring of support and desire to secure her children’s future. If you feel inclined, please use this site to make a donation to help support Kellie’s family. When the fundraiser closes, The University of North Carolina Women’s Lacrosse Alumni will be presenting Kellie's family with a single donation check, which will be a combination of all of our fundraising efforts.

We will think about Kellie every passing day, but look forward to helping support her children and watching her kids grow to reach their full potential, as she would have wanted.

Thank you so much for your support.
