The Duckett family's life changed on October 8, 2011, however with the grace of God they are all alive and with us today.

On Saturday October 8, 2011 Jen and her family were heading home from picking up her step-son and traveling on 169 Hwy to enjoy a family weekend. The family was hit head on by an elderly gentleman that was traveling the wrong way on the highway. Everyone in the accident was seriously injured, but we are very pleased to say they all survived and are with us today.

Jen spent about a month critical condition and still has a very long recovery ahead of her. Jen sustained multiple injuries, she nearly broke every bone in her body and was under 24 hour nursing care for several months. Jen is still fighting and hanging on. She battled adult respiratory distress syndrome and was seriously ill. She has a very long road ahead of her and as of today the doctors are still working on a plan to save her right foot and allow movement in her right knee. They are hoping that she will have her ankle and knee surgery in July and begin to learn to walk 6-8 weeks later. She will not be able to return to work for possibly another 6 months or more.

Her husband Andy is a self employed electrician and due to his injuries has been unable to work for a few months due to a fracture to his right arm. He continues to try to manage his self employed business. Jen's son had a severe laceration to his forehead. Her step son sustained a broken leg and damage to his liver and spleen as a result of the accident. A small child (a friend of the family) sustained a broken clavicle.

As you can imagine, this unexpected family crisis has taken quite a toll on Jen and her family. With Jen’s medical bills well over $600,000.00 it has exhausted nearly every bit of car or health insurance. With medical bills growing every day we ask for your help so the hospital bills are not weighing heavily on them as they continue to recover.

Jen has brightened the lives of so many with her positive attitude, caring heart and giving spirit. Bringing smiles to all that she encounters with her catchy phrases: "Love Your Face, Miss Your Face, and Have a Quality Day"

We know that Jen would appreciate any and all of your contributions, thoughts and prayers. Please give from the heart and forward this site to others to help us pass it along. If you would like to send cards or donations by mail you may send them to
