This is the Noriel Reed Kidney Transplant Fund. The funds will be used for Noriel's medical costs and related expenses.

Noriel was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome ( Focal and Segmental glomuruloscelosis/ FSGS) in February of 2004 at age 2. This disease caused both of Noriels kidneys to go into renal failure in August of 2005, which caused Noriel to need dialysis three times a week. He suffers from high blood pressure, anemia, and seizures. Due to the numerous medications he is on, Noriel gets all his nutrition through a feed machine. Noriel and his family have been working with the Boston Childrens Hospital, to receive another kidney transplant. Noriels Nephrologist and the transplant team here at University Hospital, believe that Noriel will have the best chance on getting a kidney quickly in Boston compared to here in Syracuse. So Noriel and his family has had to travel to Boston on a few occasions. Noriel will be put on the donor list as of the week of May 21,2012. Once Noriel and his family receives the call that Boston Childrens Hospital has a match for Noriel, he will have to rush to Boston for the transplant. Once there, Noriel and his family will have to live there for a minumum of a month, which is Boston Childrens Hospitals policy. Its for aftercare and treatments to insure that this tranplant will thrive.
