Family and friends are uniting to raise money to help with Amy’s medical expenses. We would be forever grateful for your support!

Amy Hossler had a stroke on July 24. Her husband’s job ended in April and Amy’s insurance ended April 30. Jeff and the children were able to obtain insurance privately through the same company, but Amy was denied coverage due to “pre-existing condition” relating to her hospitalization in February 2012 when she was temporarily paralyzed due to infection in lymph glands.

Jeff has been able to work short-term jobs. For the first month Amy was home, they paid for caregiver services while he worked as she could not be left home alone.

Amy has three children – 8 and 15 yr. old daughters and 10 yr. old son. She has been unable to care for them due to the stroke and this is having an additional emotional toll on her.

Amy has recovered most strength in her right side and is able to speak so you can understand most of what she says. She passed her driving test on September 19 and can drive locally now. She still has some language, communication and memory deficits from which she continues to recover.

At a time when Amy should be concerned with getting better, she worries about the financial burden the cost of the stroke, therapies and ongoing treatment is having on her family.
