Hope Spirit Baptist Church coming to the rescue during the cold holiday season.

Season's Greetings. Our country has been in a recession for quite some time and although we are pulling out somewhat there is still a lot of despair everywhere in the community. There are many without jobs and even those without a roof over their head.

The thought of being homeless right now during these colder months causes a cold chill to go up my spine just thinking about it. But yet this is the hard reality of so many right now. Many of these homeless are forgotten. And don't know where to go for a hot meal or a place to warm up during the snow storms or even the hurricanes.

I was on my way to the mall and seen a large group of homeless people shivering under the bridge together and noticed there was a good amount of children with them. And at that moment I said I really wish I could do something about this. We can not save the whole world but I know we can all do our individual part.

What could I do to make this world a better place. I prayed to God about it for several days and He inspired me to bring this concern to Pastor Denson. I mean God works in mysterious ways because the pastor said that the church is attempting to acquire a property to be converted into a shelter for the less fortunate. This facility will have counselors, vocational training, job services and daycare/babysitting services.

The help of the entire congregation is needed because the goal is to purchase the building and have it partially renovate by Christmas. This Christmas we want to have a huge Christmas dinner in this facility. We initially needed around $40,000 and about half was raised, but we're having a hard time getting the other half and we are quickly approaching Christmas. If you have a heart then please give something, I don't care if it's $20. Every little bit count.

Thank you so much for reading my pleas. May God forever bless you and I look forward to hearing from you.
