On October 16th, Chrissy Melendy(18) was critically injured in a serious car accident minutes just minutes from her home.

Chrissy is currently a Senior at Clearwater Central Catholic High School (CCCHS) in Clearwater, FL. where she is enrolled in the IB program, maintaining a 4.2 GPA.
In addition to school, she was simultaneously working as a manger at Coldstone Creamery and was serving a medical internship at St. Michael’s eye surgery clinic.

On October 16, 2011 Chrissy was in a very serious car accident in downtown Clearwater, FL. She had to be removed from her Honda Accord by the jaws of life and rushed to Bayfront for the extent of her injuries.

She suffered a concussion and was knocked unconscious. Her injuries included a punctured lung, six broken ribs and multiple fractures in her left pelvis. Her spleen was ruptured, which caused excessive internal bleeding. A special team of doctors were called in to preform an emergency splenic embolization. Shortly after being discharged, Chrissy was rushed back to the ER again due to internal bleeding and severe pain in her left abdomen.

Chrissy is now saddled in a wheel chair and walker and is in need of home healthcare weekly as well as home physical therapy 3 days a week.

Chrissy's mom Sue is a single mom raising five children on her own, who receives sporadic to little child support. While things were tough prior to the accident, mounting medical bills and Chrissy's handicap has severely limited Sue's ability to stay afloat. The family is now in crisis and is faced with increased financial challenges, in addition to mounting medical bills. Insurance has covered some of the expenses, but the Family's portion is expected to be in excess of $50,000. and Chrissy still needs considerable treatment.

Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day.
God Bless you.
