We are fund raising to assist us with the many costs of adoption through the foster care system.

We met and fell in love in the late summer of 2006 and in the early spring of 2008 we got married, but we are not able to complete our family the traditional way and have our own children. After a lot of tears and talks we decided to adopt. On top of that we decided that we want to adopt children from the foster care system and we do not want to adopt babies. There is a waiting list of couples to adopt babies and a waiting list of older children to be adopted by a family. Morally it only makes sense to us to adopt a child or children rather than babies.

When we started down this path a few years ago, we knew that it would not be easy and that there would be complications. However, we did not realize the toll that it would take on us emotionally and finically. Every time we think we are nearly done the state comes up with something else that they want us to do and that has lengthened the process so much that things such as TB tests have expired and we now have to re-do them. Just once we think we are done, we find more things that we need to pay for either for the first time or again because the previous one has expired. It has depleted any and all savings we had.

No matter what they throw at us, we are not discouraged and are not stopping. We are continuing to push forward. Currently we are hoping to have all of our paper work completed and submitted (again) by mid January and hope that we will not have many hoops to jump through once we get there. Between now and then we need to get documents from courts in other states (divorce decrees and things), re-take TB tests, re-take physicals, and re-take some classes. The costs involved with these are the reasons that we are raising money.

Those that donate will be helping us become parents and helping a child or two become an official part of our family.
