Please join the community to help Scott Ritter, his wife and four children as he battles leukemia with a bone marrow transplant.

On July 30, 2012, Scott was diagnosed with Leukemia and his life and that of his wife and four children changed overnight. Scott was diagnosed with t-cell ALL, which is a fast acting form of leukemia that requires him to have a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. Both Scott and his wife Cynthia are teachers who were laid off at the end of last school year due to budget cuts. This means that neither one can collect catastrophic leave nor can Scott be on disability. They are amazing parents to an 8 year old boy, 2 year-old twin boys and a 5 year-old daughter.

Scott is hospitalized and is undergoing a rigorous schedule of treatment which is his only hope of combating this illness. Due to his weakened immune system, he will be unable to see his children over the holidays. This unexpected family crisis is taking an emotional and financial toll on the family. Even during this time of crisis, you will see Cynthia warmly empathizing with the problems of others. Cynthia and Scott are always helping other people and it is difficult for them to ask for help. Scott does not qualify for unemployment to cover many crucial expenses like their mortgage, diapers, day care and medical expenses. They have been deeply touched by the support that they have received. Their friends, family and community are joining together to ask for your help. Your donations, thoughts and prayers for this wonderful family are greatly appreciated.
