The Cook family desperately needs a handicap van. This fundraiser has been organized by those who appreciate Heather's great example of a loving, Christian, wife & mother. The very definition of an honorable woman.

The Cook family desperately needs a handicap van.  And soon.

Will you help make it happen?

Heather Cook is a 4th grade teacher at Grace Classical Academy. She is an energetic, enthusiastic, positive, Christian young woman.  A great role model for any child.  Which is why you might never know that her husband, Alphonso Cook, was diagnosed with ALS in July of 2006.

Heather and Alphonso, aka Prune, have two young children. Caden, their son, is 8, and Reece, their daughter who is 3.

As Prunes condition has declined Heather has cheerfully cared for him and both their children. Always having faith that someday soon there will be a cure.  Telling her students that they don't want people to feel sad for them but to have faith & pray that they will quickly find a cure!

This past year Heather and Prune have moved in with Heather's parents so that she has some help caring for Prune and the children.  As Prunes condition declines he is unable to move or communicate except through a gaze machine that can be very helpful but also very frustrating.  Prune's condition is now to a point where Heather is no longer able to lift him in and out of the family car.

Without a handicap van Prune will be confined to home and unable to attend his kids activities or family functions outside the house.

Like many of us, seeing his kids play sports, have fun and experience joy is what keeps Prune's spirits up and keeps him going in his suffering.  Though Heather's attitude is always one of faith and never self pity, she does fear his condition will worsen much more quickly if he is homebound.

Lets help !  Heather desperately needs this van to help her husband, her whole family.

P.S. This fundraiser has been put together by friends who appreciate Heathers great example of a loving, Christian, wife and mother.  The very definition of an honorable woman.  Heather would never ask for ANYTHING, including this! But she really needs it!!!
