The Thomas Little Fund will be used for medical expenses due to Renal Cell Carcinoma surgery & DVT surgery to remove 2 blood clots.

On June 23, 2012, my brother, Thomas, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of his life. On June 26, 2012 he was rushed to the ER because he was having severe side pain. After 4 CT scans, a tumor was found on his right kidney. He spent 3 days in the hospital for more tests, but was released with no answers.  On July 1, 2012, my brother was baptized.

After many different hospitals, doctors and two more CT scans, he was given a diagnosis of Renal Cell Carcinoma. Because he doesn’t have any medical insurance, it was difficult to find a doctor and hospital that would agree to do surgery to remove the tumor without a down payment. It took us 2 months before he finally had the surgery and the cancerous tumor was removed. The surgery was on August 27, 2012. After the surgery, he continually felt lightheaded, dizzy, as if he could not breath and chest pain.

On September 18, 2012, while visiting our sister after her open heart surgery, he had to be taken to the ER. After having another CT scan, the doctor told him he has a blood clot next to his heart.  The doctor admitted him to St. Joseph Hospital.  He was there for a week so he could get treatment for the clot. So, at the same time, in the same hospital, on the same floor, by brother and sister were both in St. Joseph.

Surgery to remove the clot was mentioned while he was in the hospital, but nothing was done. Even though the clot had not dissolved any, the doctor sent him home from the hospital with two different blood thinners. The doctor had his nurses set up appointments for him to see other doctors for the clot. With each doctor visit, his debt raises.

One of the doctors he had to see after his release from the hospital found a second clot and it is in his leg. He sent Thomas directly to a cardiologist. The cardiologist did tests and found that his heart is not getting good circulation. The doctor put him on a third, even stronger, blood thinner, and told him that he needs to have another CT scan.

The clot in his heart is lethal and the clot in his leg could move to his heart, lungs, or brain at anytime. The cardiologist is very concerned about this. He needs to have surgery to remove the clots, but it is very expensive. Three hospitals have turned him down, in two days, on doing the CT scan he desperately needs. It costs $3000 to get a CT scan. He has had eight CT scans already, I think, I have lost count, and he needs another one. Before he can get it, he has to raise $250.00 just for a down payment on the scan. He already owes over a $100,000.00 in medical bills. He is not able to work and our Mom and I are doing everything we can to help him financially, but we do not have the funds to keep helping him.

His journey is not over yet. He still has a long road ahead of him. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you & God bless.
