Please help me help people in poor villages Nicaragua or Dominican Republic. It would mean a lot and the trip is coming up!

Hey! My name is Tati, which is short for Tatevick (pronounced: tah-tay-veeck). My mom is Armenian. My dad was Mexican. I speak Russian (didn’t expect that did you?). I was born in Kentucky and moved to Boston in 2000. I’m not so good at sports although I’ve had lessons. My favorite food is anything made from potatoes :). When I grow up, I want to work for NASA. Astronomy is a subject that has always fascinated me. I always want to know more about outer space’s mysteries and I want to do something in life that would make me happy. I absolutely LOVE to travel too..who doesn’t? I’ve been to Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, and a whole other bunch of states. I’ve never been out of North America and going to Nicaragua would be awesome. I really just can’t wait to explore new places and help out at the same time :).

About Global Potential:

The entire length of the program, including one month of recruitment and preparation, 3 months of local training, 6 weeks of international field experience, and 6.5 months of follow-up and ongoing support, internship placements, and social entrepreneurship implementation, is one year. Following the three month training period, the youth travel as a team to live within that rural community in the DR or Nicaragua and work for 6 weeks on a community-identified development project, continuing to gain practical experience with local professionals. At-risk urban youth experience the challenges of poverty in a rural village and have the experience of being able to help. The participants also study Spanish, spend time living with local families, and continue gaining youth development soft skills. <- check it out :)
