Weston Sterling Thomas born 3-25-12 was diagnosed with AML at 17 months old. He started the 6 months of intense in patient Chemo Sept. 2013
Weston is one of the most sweetest and most thoughtful toddler I've ever known. After his mother noted a red inflamed ear tip she called the Pediatrician and they were seen that day. Upon waiting for the doctor exam, the mother noted about 15 red dots on his arm that wasn't there earlier. This prompted the doctor to order a blood test to check his platelets due to the new onset petechia (dots). A critical lab value was noted and the family was informed to have Weston go to Children's hospital immediately. The intense work up including lumbar spine puncture and bone marrow biopsy confirmed his Leukemia. He is a Warrior and has been started on In-patient Chemotherapy that will be intense and expected to be treated at least 6 months. He has a brother Hunter (3) and they had been living at home with their parents Adam and Jennifer. Weston is a little Warrior and is our Superhero. He does not have fear and is resilient at this time. His parents know there will be upcoming good and not so good days but they remain strong for their young son. Weston has a supportive family, friends and even strangers that we call "Weston's Warriors". Weston loves superheroes and cowboys. He loves to be read to and likes to watch movies. His favorite things to do are to play with his brother and older cousins. He enjoys snuggling with his blankie and is starting to learn new words. He is very polite and says "hi" to the hospital staff each time they walk into the room and says "thank you" when they help him. He would also like to say "thank you" for any financial support against his Battle with Leukemia. Lots of love from Weston The Warrior.
