Please help my father be able to hold & play with his grandson. All funds will go toward the recovery and surgery for Owen's grandpa.

*Update: April 18 2012* Owen is almost 9 months and 24 pounds! Life has been kind, Dad suffered from the effects of Bells Palsy earlier in the year but is almost 100% back to normal.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DONATE PLEASE TWEET ON TWITTER, EMAIL TO YOUR CONTACTS, SHARE ON FB. WITH EVERY SHARE, TWEET, AND EMAIL YOU GIVE US A LITTLE MORE HOPE! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

In 1998 my father suffered a spinal cord injury that effected disc 5,6 & 7 requiring him to undergo numerous surgeries in order to try and mend his back. He is disabled and although his condition has been deteriorating slowly over time there has been many medical advancements and therapy's offered to him. Recently his neurosurgeon Dr. Lucy C Love,MD has advised him that if he underwent a anterior cervical discectomy & fusion with a possible corpectomy and anterior instrumentation my father could regain full function in his arms and relief from the intense pain he is in.

The thought of having my father back to join us in the simple things in life such as the beach, movies (he is unable to sit at the movies due to immense pain), participate in family events but most importantly be able to throw the ball with my son brings me to tears. My father is unable to lift anything over 20pounds, my 4 month old son is now 18 pounds & in a few short months my father will not be able to pick up Owen. Can you imagine the feeling of being unable to hold your only grandson? The feeling of being unable to play ball, to roughhouse with him? It breaks my heart and I will do all that I can to see that my dad can afford this surgery.

My father has applied to many insurance companies and although he is covered by Medicare he will still be responsible for 20% of the operation cost. We are not a wealthy family and we are grateful for any amount of donation you can provide in hopes to restore my dad's quality of life.
Thank you for any and all support- April May
