We are asking for your help and support to ease Kimberlys financial burden. Her medical bills are overwhelming and not finished yet.

Kimberly Kukich our good friend and very active 44 year old, in the prime of her life, has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disease – Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP). This disease develops hundreds, even thousands of cysts, polyps, masses and tumors in the body. If not caught in time it will kill you and usually in your 40’s.
In the summer of 2011 Kim’s symptoms started with pelvic pain. Upon examination she was found to be riddled with cysts, tumors, masses & polyps. She endured 3 surgeries having her female organs, colon and rectum removed. Her colon alone had 117 polyps.
Kims surgeries saved her life but she has a long hard road to recovery. She is facing 2 more surgeries this summer. Through all of this she has remained positive and has not lost her sense of humor. After a 10 hour surgery, one of her first comments was “There is not difference between me and grama, we are both in diapers!” That’s Kim - she keeps us smiling and laughing.
As with any catastrophic illness the medical bills keep mounting. Kims insurance has covered about two thirds of the expense so far but they are denying coverage for the next two surgeries. And on top of that her insurance premium has nearly doubled. She applied for disability last year when she was told her recovery time would be at least 2 years. She is still waiting for approval.
Kim has always been the one helping other people and expecting nothing in return.
