Help an active duty family in need for emergency surgery. All funds are payable directly to the hospital.

Hello,

I am married to an active duty sailor and we have two beautiful labs, Harley and Bella. However, due to an accident my 1 year old black lab needs knee surgery for some torn ligaments. And my husband and I are changing duty stations. I can’t seem to find any assistance with transporting our dogs, which with all the vaccinations, fees, blood work from Kansas state, flight tickets, pet carriers, and quarantine is going to cost in the several thousand dollar range. I spoke to my vet the other day and Harley needs the surgery before we leave for our new duty station because the trip will be too hard on his knee. As you may have noticed an E-5 does not make a lot of money and I work full time as a care provider assisting the developmentally challenged community. We are leaving in April 2011 and we just simply can't afford both, but I can’t stand to leave my dog behind, I refuse to. He has become like a child to me when my human baby passed away in December 2010. So I guess what I am asking if you can help donate for Harley's surgery and keeping our family together. I have already contacted several organisations to help my dog's knee. This surgery will give him a 98% recovery. He will be able to run and play like a normal 1 1/2 year old black lab. My family and I just recently lost our baby and it put me out of work for several months due to hosptlisations and grievences. It would also help if you know of any foundations that assist active duty members in transporting their pets across seas. Any information or assistance will be so appreciated. I have never asked for assistance before, but this is no longer concerning my well being, this is about my adopted child's quality of life. Please, I have already lost one child, please help me keep my other. I can provide proof of surgery expences through NW Animal Care Hospital in Everett, WA (425) 379-0400 with Dr. Clancy. I can also provide proof of my own hospitlisations, death of my baby in December 2010, proof of manditory duty station orders. If you can't donate, I understand, this is difficult times but your prays would be helpful. If you can donate by mail you can send your donation directly to the vet hospital; please include a letter for Harley's knee surgery.
