We are uniting to raise money to help Ray with his battle against cancer. Please show your support!

We all know Ray................with his snowy white hair, and a big smile for everyone. He is honest and kind and so, so funny! He is a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and co-worker. Ray is a former Marine and police officer and now works for Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Ray is fighting cancer with all his might. It started off as kidney cancer a couple years ago and Ray lost his kidney. He started having problems breathing, and when he went in for tests, they showed that the cancer had spread to his lungs with multiple tumors. Not only that, the cancer was back at the site where his kidney used to be. He started an intensive treatment that hospitalized him for a week with each treatment and made him very sick. After that, Ray began a very strong, very expensive medication regimen to try to reduce the size of the tumors. It worked and the tumors started shrinking. Recently when he went in for scans, they showed the tumors are no longer shrinking, and have begun to grow again. The Doctors decided to get Ray involved in a trial medication program, which is extremely expensive. They are hoping this medication will slow the growth of the tumors. They also found another mass in Ray's abdomen, which the Doctor suspects is not cancerous, but a bundle of lymph nodes that are sticking together, putting pressure on an artery, which has caused a blood clot. So, in addition to the new cancer meds, Ray also has to give himself two injections of blood thinners in his abdomen daily.

All of these medications and treatments have serious risks and side effects. He is experiencing some of these side effects now. Ray is dedicated to going to work every day at Dick’s Sporting Good’s in the Facilities Department even though there are days when he is so exhausted, he can barely make it to his truck at the end of the day. And through all of this, every time we see him, he smiles. He laughs. He jokes. He's such a good man who is showing so much strength during this battle.
Please, let us, his family, friends and co-workers, help show Ray how much we appreciate him and his strength by raising money to ease Ray's financial burden so he can continue to smile for us.
