The family of Ryan and Aidan Walsh are raising money to help our boys with mental illnesses achieve proper care.

Ryan, our fourteen year old son, has struggled with mental illness since a very early age. Around age seven, his issues became severe. At age 10, he was hospitalized for threatening to kill himself, and trying to exit a moving car. At age 13, Ryan held a knife to his throat and attempted to kill himself. He was hospitalized for 42 days in Streamwood Behavioral Health Center. He is currently on a last resort medication for schizophrenia.

Our seven year old son, Aidan, is exhibiting the same symptoms as Ryan. He is having a lot of difficulty, and has been in and out of Streamwood Behavioral Health in the partial program and also as an inpatient. He is in first grade, and the school is refusing to give him an IEP for his emotional disabilities. I am trying to raise funds to offset the legal expenses required to take care of our two sons, and provide them with proper placements and earlier intervention for Aidan.

Many studies are conclusive in stating that early intervention is key to helping early onset cases have success. Aidan has begun having visual and auditory hallucinations, as did Ryan, and he is fearful much of the time.

The care the boys require of constant supervision, help and services is growing. In order to properly meet their needs, we need to employ the services of a well respected mental health law firm.

The anxiety for Aidan has become too much, and he is already experiencing suicidal ideation due to the stress.

The money we are raising would go toward legal expenses to get the boys proper help, as well as offset medical costs not covered by state insurance.

Thank you in advance for considering to help our boys.
