I'm not a writer, so please bear with me. I have struggled for a long time with veterinary bills.I am looking for help towards some of these. My dachshund, Goose, was rescued by my daughter. His ownwer had starved him, and broke one of his legs. She had to move to an apartment, so I kept him for a year. After that, I was so attached to him, she let me keep him. He is approx. 10 years old.
Three years ago, on the worst snowstorm of the season, he got really sick. He wanted water, and I had to hold his nose out of the bowl, or he would have drowned!!!
We got him to the vet the next day. He had diabetes. He barely made it. Now, there are monthly expenses for insulin, veterinary cares, and food. He is blind, now, but still has a good quality of life. I have been there every morning, and every night, to give him his insulin shots.
Ginger, a blue dachshund has been with us for 8 years. She was thrown out of a car and left on a highway....a lady found her, and she was given to me. She too, was starving. She had kidney stones, and a bladder leak. We had them removed, but the bladder leak is permanent. She, too is on a special diet, and has never had another kidney stone. She is a sweet happy little dog.
Due to disability, I am having a ver hard time each month. Now, on top of this, we have a kitty named Lucky who is very sick, and needs more medicine. Also, a beagle named Buddy, who is not over a bad illness, and needs more medicine.
They are all patients of Dr. Holm at Holm Animal Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He is a wonderful, caring, exceptional vet!!!!!!!
Please help if you can, it would really be appreciated.Checks could be sent directly to Holm Animal Hospital if you prefer. I will add more later--Thank-you and God bless you!! Patty Cleghorn
