Please show your support for Jamisen by helping us to pay for brain surgery costs not covered by insurance.

On Thanksgiving Day 1996, I was handed my new daughter, a tiny little girl, living in an orphanage near Shanghai, China. At one year of age, she was only 13 pounds and terrified at being removed from her crib where she had been strapped down for most of her young life. Although she had been identified as a healthy baby, she could not sit up and had no muscle strength in her arms or legs. This tiny little girl reached out to me and I became her mom that day. Over the last 15 years she has grown into a beautiful wonderful young lady and has endured and overcome emotional and physical difficulties. She is a talented musician, singing and playing the acoustic and classical guitar and loves to make people laugh. She extends a kind heart to everyone she knows, according to her teachers, and reaches out to protect and defend anyone who is being bullied or in need of support. Unfortunately, she continues to suffer from worsening seizures that cannot be controlled by medication and side effects of seizure medications that prevent her from living a full independent life without surgery. The financial costs of meeting her physical and emotional needs, including epilepsy, have become overwhelming. Widowed with some health issues of my own, I reluctantly find myself reaching out to you to help provide the brain surgery and related medical care this amazing young lady needs through your donations. Donations can be paid via GiveForward or if you'd prefer directly to: Jamisen K. Moore.  Add Note -- Special Account - 0668521.  This account is designated for Duke Hospital and Physican charges.  Address the envelope to the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union, P.O. Box 688, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 The donations can be anonymous, but I would like you to include a note so I can thank you personally. Your thoughts and prayers and ideas for fundraisers are also very very welcome. You may contact our family at
