This fund is to help a brave young man in his battle against bone cancer. Please help me raise support and awareness for Michael!

Michael Brown is a super tough, 13 year-old boy with cancer. He has the heart and soul, the drive, and the will power to battle through this, but unfortunately, that's only part of the battle. This fund is set up to not only help with medical and living expenses, but to also create a network of support to encourage and uplift a young man's life.

Here's Michael's story:

In September of 2010, at a young age of only 11 years old, and just starting the 6th grade, Michael showed signs and symptoms of having the deadly disease called cancer. Even so, throughout his 6th grade education, he continued to achieve straight A's, and was inducted into the National Honor Society. He has also placed second in two county wide essay contests.

It wasn't until June 18th of 2011 that Michael was officially diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Ewing's Sarcoma. Ewing's Sarcoma is a cancerous tumor that grows in bones or the soft tissue near the bones. When it is called Metastatic, that means that the cancer has spread to other parts of the body as well. Michael's battle started with an inoperable tumor on his right hip and three tumors in his lungs. He went through nine months of radiation and chemotherapy.

The three spots on his lungs disappeared, and the tumor on his hip is slowly shrinking. Although, this tumor still greatly affects Michael's ability to walk.

On October 3, 2012 scans found multiple spots on his lungs. These spots were undetected on previous scans, and have survived the previous radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Michael will yet again have to endure additional radiation and chemotherapy treatments, this time stronger medication will be needed.

Although all of this sounds like it would really hurt the spirit of a young man at this age, Michael has remained strong. He's not only optimistic about his own situation, but he helps the other children going through their own cancer battles, too. He helps them understand and cope with what they are facing, and how they are feeling. His own cancer battle isn't his primary concern. He still loves to live his life, and does so with an incredible attitude. I haven't known Michael for too long, but I can see his courage and heart. He is the most respectful and well-mannered young man that I have met in a long time. Please help me raise support and awareness for Michael!
