Please join with me in raising money to help my mother with medical costs and other related expenses not covered by Medicare.

On January 11, Orean Cosby went into surgery for a partial hysterectomy. After removal of all tissues, they were sent to pathology only to discover breast cancer hidden in the lining of the uterus. This discovery was puzzling for the hospitals tumor team. Nonetheless, after further examination, intensive mammograms and ultra sounds, the outcome was definite.

The prognosis was stage iv breast cancer. After recovering from surgery for the hysterectomy, Orean continued on to the oncologist for consultation. Orean was told that at this stage the cancer was terminal and the only option was making life as comfortable as possible. Nonetheless, she made the decision to do her own research on the cancer, how it affected her life now and what kind of life style changes she needed to make.

By March of 2011, further full body CTS and full body bone scans were ordered and it was determined that the cancer had not moved to any of the usual locations that breast cancer metastasize to (Thank God) but had metastasized all over her entire skeleton (every bone).

The life style changes in eating worked wonderful for reducing the tumor markers 60%, where they have become pretty stable, to-date. However, the bone scan showed an alarming spot at the neck of the left femar bone. The hole was of such size that it was determined that the leg would break without any agitation. A rod was placed in the bone of the left leg to stabilize the leg for when the leg would break. But, because I had started a regime of taking vitamin D3, the bone had become extremely strong and two months after the leg surgery, the bone grew back in the hole.

To-date, her life style changes, her faith in the almighty God and the expertise of her oncologist, she is a survivor.

Orean is one of the many millions who do not have excellent private health care. Due to previous disabilities, the only medical care comes from Medicare through disability. The out-of-pocket expenses incurred from the two surgeries along with orthopedic expenses are constantly looming over her head which adds stress and I want to ask for help through this fundraising project to help eliminate this stress and help Orean remain a breast cancer survivor without stress
