"Never Give Up" is the Jim Clark Fight Against Brain Cancer Fund. Funds will be used for Jim's medical costs not covered by insurance.

Early this year my dad, whom most know as Jim or Coach Clark, started experiencing numbness on his left side. Doctors at Kaiser poo poo'd it at first blaming it on his age. Finally they diagnosed him with Spinal Stenosis and left it at that.

August 25th was my moms birthday. It was also the day he succumbed to a massive seizure that resulted in his being rushed to the hospital.

In the days that followed we were informed that a mass found in his brain was malignant. A Glioblastoma... Brain Cancer.

My dad has wanted to fight since the moment he found out that something was growing in his brain and we weren't ready to just accept the doom and gloom the Kaiser doctors kept trying to cram down our throats. He's never been a quiter and that's why a promise got made: we all decided that we would "Never Give Up."

The Doctors at Kaiser Neurosurgery handed down a death sentance telling us all that his brain tumor was incurable, untreatable and inoperable. The way they treated him was deplorable.

Today my dad is in Seattla at Swedish Medical Center Cherry Hill, under the care of Dr. Greg Foltz and Dr. John Henson. Together, with Dr. Foltz's and Dr. Henson's expertise and the support of family and friends, we are fighting this terrible disease and my dad has a real chance.

Now Kaiser is saying that they will not pay for the life saving care my dad is recieving here at Swedish.

My mom has not left my dads side, her husband of nearly 46 years, since the day he was admitted.

It's not right that the two of them should have to worry about their medical coverage now, when they've never missed a payment in all the years with Kaiser, now when they need it most. When they should be allowed to focus on beating this disease, insurance should not be made a concern.

Please help me help them Never Give Up.
