The family & friends of Mary Anne Pennington are uniting to raise funds to help with her battle against thyroid cancer. Help is appreciated!
Mary Anne is a 39-year-old design instructor in Houston, Texas. Six years ago she became the primary financial support for herself and her mother who lost her job as a public school teacher. The two of them have been living together, making ends meet, on Mary Anne's income from three part-time jobs. Any amount of time she will be out of work will make this situation much worse as she will not be able to maintain her current living arrangements.
In February of 2013 Mary Anne was diagnosed with having a tumor in the lower left-hand side of her neck. She went in for surgery on March 21st 2013 to have it removed along with half of her thyroid gland, for further testing. A few weeks later the results came back. They found, not one, but two forms of cancer. Even though she had surgery, because there was cancer found, they fear it could be spreading to other areas in her body. In many cases the entire thyroid is removed and chemotherapy treatments are administered so there is less chance of the cancer spreading or coming back. So, her fight is far from over. Cancer is a horrible diagnosis to receive. Not only that, but very expensive to treat. She still has more treatments ahead and the bills to follow. Her doctor sent her to a hospital that specializes in cancer treatments.
To set an appointment alone a required deposit of $16,400.00 must be met. That is before they will even set a payment plan in place for any amounts that might exceed this cost. It has been three weeks since her first surgery and she has received no further care. Time is crucial. She is ready to put up a fight and kick this cancer, but she needs your help.
Please show your support and give what you can!
I want to thank each and every person who has given support through messages, prayers, donations, time and effort into helping Mary Anne through this.
