Janice is engaged & between her fiance and herself they have 5 children.

She used to work as a sign language interpreter when she was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive kind of cancer, osteosarcoma. The family does not have health insurance. Help us to raise money in this fight for Janice! As medical bills continue to accumulate and living expenses becoming less of a focus right now, let's all contribute to make this one less item that Janice and Allen have to worry about. The lack of health insurance has been the biggest obstacle preventing Janice from receiving the treatment she so desperately needs. Janice is a 28 year old mother, daughter, sister, fiancé, neighbor, and friend. At the beginning of November, Janice became ill with severe back pain and a multitude of other symptoms. She tried doctor after doctor and no one seemed to have an answer or her. On Feb. 7 she woke up spitting up blood and was rushed to the hospital. She had a blood clot in her lung.  Shortly after she was admitted she lost feeling in her legs. Surgery was performed to remove a partial tumor, causing pressure on her spine. Shortly later she was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive Sarcoma Cancer. Because of lack of insurance and funding, she was unable to be transferred to the M. D. Anderson Sarcoma Research Center in Houston, which is exactly where she needs to be, among specialists who know how to treat this cancer effectively. After spending 2 weeks in the hospital, her fiancee drove her to Houston’s MD Anderson to get answers on their own.. Thankfully she was able to get one foot in the door. Just as soon as she could get the other foot in the door, there were setbacks. In order for a doctor to see Janice at MD Anderson they want a $25,000 deposit up front.  Janice has applied for Medicaid only to be told that it could take 3-months. During the two weeks following her surgery, the tumors have already grown back, causing her to lose feeling in her legs again. The doctors performed emergency surgery again, relieving more pressure,  in the hopes of salvaging her legs again. We cannot stress how important it is to start treatment, if she is going to have any chance of fighting this at all. Please don't let lack of funding be the reason this woman loses the battle. If anyone is willing to help there are so many expenses and setbacks the family has encountered. Anything helps!!!! This family is battling this disease without insurance. Please keep Janice and her family in your prayers and thoughts. We will continue to update you with as much information as we can!
