Help an amazing support group of women dealing w/rare blood cancers come together so we can help start a new non-profit.

"Team Magnolias" We are an amazing support group of women (over 50 strong) dealing with rare blood cancers. Many of us are pts. some are caregivers and some are those who have lost loved ones but are still passionate about our cause. We are try trying to raise funds so that we can have a peaceful soul-reviving retreat, get to meet in person (we are from all over the country and overseas) and possibly invite a doctor to talk to us about our limited treatment options, maybe a nutritionist to help us find out healthier ways to improve our diets, and we also want to offer our girls the chance to get pampered just a little bit.  In addition to this consortium of women, we aim to start laying the groundwork for a new non-profit organization that will help bring greater awareness to rare cancers and help patients and families affected have greater resources to help them along their journey.  We deal with barbaric procedures, terrible side effects from chemo meds, financial woes due to med bills, family stresses, job stresses and etc. As you know, cancer effects EVERY aspect of life and family. The point of this retreat is to inform us and others, reinvigorate our souls, and bring us together in person because we lean on each other everyday online, yet most of us have never met. We have an amazing sense of sisterhood despite our distance and we desperately want the chance to see each other and connect further. Even though cancer is a major part of our lives we wish to emphasize that it's not all that we are, it doesn't define us as people. We are truly a sisterhood like the Steel Magnolias (group's nickname) we liken ourselves to and all of us getting together is very important to us. Due to our diagnoses, finances are a major crippler to our cause so that's why I'm putting this maybe give us a real shot at having our little dream come true.  These girls are my "family", my sisters in arms and they (we) all deserve whatever the best of the world can give them.  Please know this is truly a grassroots level project, without outside help we will never get the funding to make this difference to ourselves and everyone like us struggling with little known cancers.
